This training session is exclusively for AmeriServe employees, providing in-depth education on Fragile X Syndrome and effective support strategies to enhance the care we provide.

What is Fragile X Syndrome?

Fragile X Syndrome is a genetic condition that affects intellectual and developmental abilities. It is one of the most common inherited causes of intellectual disabilities and can present with a wide range of symptoms, including:

  • Cognitive delays that impact learning and problem-solving skills
  • Speech and language challenges that affect communication
  • Sensory sensitivities and social anxiety
  • Repetitive behaviors and difficulty with transitions

While it shares similarities with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Fragile X Syndrome has unique characteristics that require tailored approaches to care and support.
