At AmeriServe, our Day Hab program has had an exceptional year filled with growth, community involvement, and meaningful opportunities for clients. Through the hard work of our team members and the incredible dedication of our clients, 2024 has been a year of progress and excitement. From adding new volunteer activities to nearing a milestone in client attendance, the Day Hab program is thriving—and we’re just getting started!

A Year of Engagement: Community Hours and Volunteer Work

The numbers speak volumes about the level of engagement in our Day Hab program this year. From January through October 2024, our clients:

• Spent 21,913.5 hours in the community, participating in activities such as:
  • Shopping at local stores.
  • Visiting parks and exploring the great outdoors.
  • Touring Nebraska University and engaging in educational opportunities.
  • Enjoying petting zoos, drive-thru safaris, and movie theaters.
  • Participating in trips to horse ranches and other unique destinations.
• Completed 4,477.5 hours of volunteer work with organizations like:
  • Impact Hill
  • Heart Ministries
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Council Bluffs Public Library
  • Trail Blazers

These activities not only provide clients with exciting experiences but also encourage choice and independence, as clients play an active role in planning their weekly schedules.

New Volunteer Opportunities

This year, Day Hab introduced two new volunteer activities to the program. These additions have opened up fresh opportunities for clients to:

• Engage in meaningful work that benefits the community.
• Explore activities they might not have experienced otherwise.
• Build confidence, skills, and a sense of purpose.

These volunteer opportunities reflect our commitment to empowering clients and integrating them into the community in meaningful ways.

A Growing Program: Nearing a Major Milestone

The Day Hab program has experienced incredible growth over the last three years, nearly tripling the number of enrolled clients. By early November 2024, we reached 99 clients enrolled in Day Hab, an achievement that underscores the hard work and dedication of our team.

As we continue to grow, we’re optimistic that we’ll exceed this milestone, solidifying Day Hab as a thriving and impactful program.

Behind every success in the Day Hab program is a team of passionate leaders who coach, train, and support both clients and team members. The AmeriServe Leadership Team works tirelessly to:

• Foster a supportive environment where clients and team members can thrive.
• Provide training and guidance to ensure everyone reaches their full potential.
• Cheer on clients as they participate in activities and explore new opportunities.

This commitment to excellence is what drives the Day Hab program forward and creates an environment of empowerment and growth.
