Diverse Experiences Highlight the Joys of Summer Camp at AmeriServe

At AmeriServe, we celebrate the variety of experiences that summer camps offer to both our clients and staff. This year, three individuals—Zachary R., Kasey L., and Giel K.—attended camp, each finding unique ways to engage with the activities and grow from their time spent outdoors.

Zachary Embraces Leadership as a Volunteer Camp Counselor

Zachary, one of our dedicated clients, spent his summer as a volunteer camp counselor. With a passion for the outdoors and a desire to give back, Zachary thrived in his role, which included leading activities, supervising peers, and organizing camp events. His favorite part? Watching the campers enjoy their time at camp—a rewarding and fulfilling experience for him.

Kasey and Giel’s Recreational Camp Adventures

Meanwhile, Kasey and Giel, both AmeriServe clients, immersed themselves in all the camp had to offer, from archery to arts and crafts. Their experiences highlighted the wide range of activities summer camps provide, ensuring each camper finds something they love.

Personal Growth and Community Impact

For Zachary, Kasey, and Giel, camp was more than just a recreational break—it was an opportunity for personal growth and meaningful connections. Whether volunteering or participating, the camp experience left a lasting impact, fostering friendships, new skills, and memories to last a lifetime.

Summer camps play a critical role in both community building and personal development for individuals with disabilities. AmeriServe is proud to support our clients in these enriching activities
